Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Saurashtra and Kutch, Gangetic West Bengal, and parts of Jharkhand. While Southwest Monsoon remained active over parts of Southeast Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, and rest of West Bengal along with Northeast India, East Madhya Pradesh, Southeast Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh. Normal Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, rest of Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, parts of Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
Major contribution came from Deesa that recorded 248 mm rain, followed by Jamshedpur at 227 mm and Mahabaleshwar at 151 mm.
As on July 23, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to be 3 percent above normal. Presently, Northwest India is rain surplus by 16%. Central India is rain surplus by 13%. Rest of South, East and Northeast regions of the country are still rain deficit.

The Axis of Monsoon trough now passes through Bikaner, center of low pressure area, Shivpuri, Gazipur, center of well-marked low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal & adjoining Jharkhand and up to North Bay of Bengal.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
During the next 24 hours, Vigorous Monsoon conditions will be seen over North Gujarat and adjoining South Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand, North Chhattisgarh, Southeast Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Southwest Madhya Pradesh.
Monsoon will remain active over coastal Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Monsoon will remain subdued over parts of Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and West Rajasthan.
