Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over South Gujarat, North Konkan and Goa and many parts Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, active Monsoon conditions were seen over remaining parts of Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. Major contribution came from Veraval that recorded 151 mm of rain in the past 24 hours, followed by Mahabaleshwar at 137 mm and Ahmedabad at 89 mm.
As on July 20, the cumulative rainfall for the country continues to be normal at 2%. At present, Northwest India is surplus by 16% Central India by 9%. Whereas South India is deficit by 4%, East and Northeast India is still deficient by 11%.

The axis of Monsoon trough is seen passing through Kutch, Idar, then central of low, Satna, Daltonganj, Jamshedpur, Digha and is moving towards Northeast Bay of Bengal.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to remain vigorous over South Gujarat. Meanwhile, Active Monsoon conditions are likely over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, North Kerala and West Madhya Pradesh.

While Normal Monsoon conditions will be seen over Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, South Bihar and Southeast Uttar Pradesh.
