Monsoon Forecast for Jul 13, 2017: Monsoon rains in Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttarakhand

Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Active Monsoon conditions were seen over Bihar, North Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Tamil Nadu and North Coastal Karnataka. While, normal Monsoon conditions were observed over Chhattisgarh, rest parts of Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and Northeast India.
 

Major contribution came from Rewa that recorded 154 mm of rain in the past 24 hours, followed by Amritsar at 153 mm and Satna at 136 mm. As on July 11, the cumulative countrywide rainfall deficiency continued to be at 1%. Presently, Northwest India is rain surplus by 31%. Central India is rain deficient by 8% While South and East and Northeast India are deficient by 9% and 3%, respectively.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Barmer, Sikar, Hisar, Patiala and Kapurthala.

In the next 24 hours, the Southwest Monsoon will make an onset over Punjab. Vigorous Monsoon conditions to continue over East Madhya Pradesh. Monsoon will remain active over Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Southeast Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.
 
Live status of Lightning and thunderlightning-in-bengaluru

Normal monsoon conditions will give light to moderate rain in Delhi, eastern parts of Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. Meanwhile, light rains cannot be ruled out on the rest parts of the country.
