Monsoon Forecast for Jul 11, 2017: Monsoon rains in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, UP, Northeast

Southwest Monsoon remained active to vigorous over Assam, West Bengal, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.

Active Monsoon conditions were seen over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala and North Konkan and Goa.

Major contribution came from Siliguri that recorded 189 mm of rain in the past 24 hours, followed by Gorakhpur at 159 mm and Cooch Behar at 156 mm.

As on July 9, the cumulative countrywide rainfall deficiency dropped to 2%. Presently, Northwest India is rain surplus by 31%. Central India is deficient by 7%
While South and East and Northeast India are deficient by 7% and 9%, respectively.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Barmer, Sonipat and Shimla up to Jammu.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain vigorous over parts of West Bengal, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Bihar, parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Monsoon will remain active over Chhattisgarh, West Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.

Live status of Lightning and thunderlightning-in-bengaluru

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Coastal Maharashtra will witness an increase in rainfall activities.

Monsoon is likely to remain subdued over Karnataka, South Tamil Nadu, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
