Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over parts of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa.
Monsoon remained active over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, East Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand and the rest parts of Northeast India. It remained normal over South Rajasthan, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha and remaining parts of Gujarat.
Meanwhile, it remained subdued over West Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Major contribution came from Bhira wherein 239 mm of rain was recorded in the past 24 hours, followed by Mahabaleshwar at 180 mm and Ambikapur 156 mm.
As on June 29, the country witnessed 2 percent surplus rainfall. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, North West India is surplus by 42 percent, South India by 11 percent. While, East and Northeast India is deficient by 17 percent.

The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Barmer, Chittorgarh, Guna, Satna, Siddhi and Patna. Now rains are expected to increase over East Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan therefore we expect NLM to advance further in some more parts of Rajasthan remaining parts of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to remain vigorous over Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan and Goa. Mumbai will continue receiving heavy rains.
Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, South Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, parts of Vidarbha, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur will witness active Monsoon.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Normal Monsoon conditions are expected over Odisha, West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and West Madhya Pradesh.
On the other hand, Monsoon rains will remain subdued over rest of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
