Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
Active conditions were seen over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Interior Odisha, Interior Andhra Pradesh, a few places over Telangana and North Karnataka.
Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over Bihar, West Bengal, Northeast states, remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Konkan & Goa region.
Major rain contribution came from Nowgong that recorded 130 mm of rainfall, followed by Kota at 103 mm and Cherrapunji at 94 mm of rain.
As on August 7, the cumulative countrywide rainfall is deficient by 3%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest India is rain surplus by 11%. Central India continues to remain near normal. Whereas, South, East and Northeast India are still rain deficient by 18% and 7%, respectively.

At present, the axis of Monsoon now passes through Amritsar, Delhi, Banda, Daltonganj, Digha towards Northwest Bay of Bengal.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain vigorous over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Active Monsoon conditions are also likely over East Rajasthan, North Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Interior Karnataka.
Normal Monsoon conditions are likely over Interior Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Konkan & Goa, Kerala, Delhi, Haryana and Interior Tamil Nadu.
