Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous to active over parts of Northeastern states, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Active conditions prevailed over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, North Andhra Pradesh and West Coast.
Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over South Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, rest parts of Andhra Pradesh and Vidarbha.
Major rain contribution came from Dharamshala that recorded 125 mm of rainfall, followed by North Lakhimpur at 124 mm and Jabalpur at 102 mm of rain.
As on August 6, the cumulative countrywide rainfall is deficient by 2%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest India is rain surplus by 12% Central India is near normal.

Whereas, South, East and Northeast India are still rain deficient by 18% and 7%, respectively.
At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Kapurthala, Karnal, Meerut, Bareilly, Daltonganj, Digha towards Northwest Bay of Bengal.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain vigorous to active over parts of upper Assam and adjoining Arunachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Active Monsoon conditions are also likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, North Telangana and Coastal Kerala.
Whereas, subdued Monsoon conditions are expected over Kutch, adjoining Gujarat and West Rajasthan.
Light to moderate rains can also occur over Delhi and adjoining NCR.
