Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. While, Active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Telangana and parts of Assam and Gangetic West Bengal.
Major rain contribution came from Mumbai that recorded 331 mm of rainfall, followed by Matheran at 185 mm and Khandwa 137 mm.
On August 29, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continued to be deficient by -4%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest, Central and South India are rain deficient by 4%, 5% and 7%, respectively.
At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through the centre of well-marked low pressure area across Indore, Seoni, Raipur, Gopalpur and further towards west central Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain vigorous over Gujarat. Meanwhile, active Monsoon conditions are expected over Southeast Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, many places over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, parts of Interior Odisha, Vidarbha and South Interior Karnataka.

Monsoon will remain normal over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, South Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Telangana.
