Southwest Monsoon remained active over Jammu and Kashmr, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab, North Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, East Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Tamil Nadu.
Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over some parts of Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and interior Tamil Nadu.
Major contribution came from Patiala that recorded 126 mm of rain, followed by Moradabad at 84 mm, and Kavali at 77 mm.
As on August 1, the cumulative countrywide rainfall stands at 1%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest India is surplus by 17% Central India by 7% Whereas, South, East and Northeast India are rain deficient by 18% and 8%, respectively.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Ferozepur, Karnal, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarpur, Goalpara and towards East Assam.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to be active over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, parts of Assam, Konkan and Goa and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Normal Monsoon conditions are likely over, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
Light to moderate rains may also occur over Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Lucknow.
