Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous along the West Coast, Vidarbha, North Telangana and South Madhya Pradesh. Active Monsoon conditions were observed over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, North Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, South Telangana, Kerala, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Normal Monsoon conditions were seen over Punjab, West Bengal and rest parts of northeastern states.
Major rain contribution came from Hyderabad that recorded 114 mm of rainfall, followed by Mumbai 90 mm and Lucknow also at 90 mm.
As on August 25, the cumulative countrywide rainfall remains deficient by 5%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest India, Central and South India are rain deficient by 3%, 8% and 11%, respectively. While East and North East India continues to remain normal.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through North of Rajasthan, Southwest Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and then towards East central Bay of Bengal.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain vigorous along the West Coast including Mumbai, Vidarbha, Telangana, some parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh and South and East parts of Gujarat. Active Monsoon conditions will be witnessed over East Rajasthan, central parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura.

Normal Monsoon conditions are expected over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and many parts of northeastern states. Whereas subdued Monsoon conditions are likely over West Rajasthan and South Tamil Nadu.
