Southwest Monsoon remained active to vigorous over Saurashtra and Kutch, South Gujarat and Northwest Uttar Pradesh.
While, Normal Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Haryana, Southeast Rajasthan, remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh, Southwest Madhya Pradesh Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka.
Major rain contribution came from Najibabad that recorded 79 mm of rainfall, followed by Valsad at 63 mm and Rajkot 57 mm.
On August 21, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to stand at -5%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest, Central and South India continue to be rain deficient by 3%, 8% and 12%, respectively. While, East and Northeast India is the only rain surplus region by 2%.
At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Anupgarh, Narnaul, Agra, Sidhi, Jamshedpur and Digha towards Northeast Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, active Monsoon conditions will give light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells over Uttarakhand, Northeast Punjab, west and Central Uttar Pradesh and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, North Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal & Sikkim, South Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka will observe normal Monsoon.
