Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over South Interior Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, while it was active over Bihar, Konkan & Goa and Jharkhand.
Major rain contribution came from Bengaluru that recorded 129 mm of rainfall, followed by Bankura at 109 mm and Agumbe 109 mm.
As on August 14, the cumulative countrywide rainfall continues to stand at -3%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest and East and Northeast India are rain surplus by 6% and 3%, respectively. Whereas, Central and South India are rain deficient by 7% and 16%, respectively.
At present, the axis of monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas. The eastern end of the trough passes through Patna, Bankura and Digha towards Southeast Bay of Bengal.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will be vigorous over East Assam, Nagaland, and Mizoram. Active Monsoon conditions will give moderate to heavy rains over Interior Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka.

Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, parts of Odisha, South Chhattisgarh and Telangana will observe normal Monsoon.
