August 30, 2017 11:16 AM |

After July 26, 2005, it was yesterday when Mumbai witnessed extremely heavy down pour over several parts of the city. Santacruz Observatory recorded 331 mm of rain in the last 21 hours. The city was almost submerged in water. Local trains were delayed and the schools and offices have been shut as announced by the government officials. As per media reports 4 people have lost their lives as well. The well-marked low pressure area which caused these massive rains is now moving towards Gujarat and is expected to intensify further into a depression.

Rain intensity over Mumbai has already reduced. As per Skymet Weather, on and off light rains will continue with a few short spells of moderate showers in a few areas but heavy downpour which was witnessed by city in the last 24 hours will not make a comeback now.
