The coming week for the northern parts of the country is going to be a stormy one. Skymet Weather had already predicted of one storm event during the past week. It is then when the state of Rajasthan had observed severe dust storm and thunderstorm activity which had claimed over 120 lives in the state itself.

Now, there has come a break in intense rain and thunderstorm activities over the northern parts since the last 24 hours. However, rain and thunder shower with dust storm may commence over Haryana and Punjab by afternoon of May 7. North Rajasthan will also witness some rains during the same time period. Delhi and NCR may receive weather activities from night of May 7.
The intensity will increase and continue till May 9. Strong winds of 50 to 60 kmph gusting up to 70 or 90 Kmph are possible at isolated places. But these activities will not be widespread and need not to panic. However, this does not mean that the weather will become pleasant completely.

Intense heat will be witnessed, and temperatures may be reaching up to 40 degrees in many parts of North India. In fact, relief from intense heat is not on the cards for the northern plains.
