According to Skymet Weather, the system gave light rains over some parts of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and West Bengal including Kolkata during the last 24 hours. The system is presently travelling in favourable weather conditions and it is likely to maintain the intensity of a deep depression for some time.
We have to wait and watch whether it will further intensify or not. However, as the system would continue to move north-northwestwards, it would enter into comparatively cooler sea surface temperatures which would prevent it from strengthening further. Weather models are indicating that the system is most likely to cross the East Coast of India somewhere between North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha by December 9.

In the wake of this system, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will continue to witness light rains. As the system nears the coast, the intensity of rains would increase over all these areas. Hence, fishermen are advised to take precautions before venturing out in the sea as sea conditions will remain rough.
