The severe cyclone Mora has finally crossed Bangladesh coast near Chittagong. Now, due to its interaction with the land and decrease in moisture content, the system is expected to weaken rapidly into a deep depression and subsequently into a depression in the next 12 hours.
While the system will move in a northeast direction, Northeast India will also bear the brunt of the cyclone. Heavy to very heavy rains with isolated extremely heavy showers are likely over the states of Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Meghalaya.

Moderate to heavy rains will also occur over Nagaland, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. West Bengal including Kolkata will also witness good rains. Some rainfall activity may also occur over the states of Jharkhand.
