West Rajasthan, Vidarbha, and northern parts of Gujarat are the hottest pockets of the country. Here temperatures are almost touching 45 degrees. Rest of Rajasthan, Gujarat and most parts of Madhya Pradesh are also recording maximums above 40 degrees.

Hotter days descending upon North India as well. Places recording maximums between 35 and 40 degrees are represented by this yellow patch. Delhi will soon touch 40 degrees. Interiors of the peninsula and Northeast India are the only two pockets to receive rain. These areas will be the coolest as well.

Hot and dry north westerly winds blowing over North and Central India are responsible for the rising temperatures.

The cyclonic circulation over Bihar will induce moist winds from the Bay of Bengal. In view of this system, Northeast India will continue to receive rain for next 3 to 4 days.

Wind discontinuity persist over the peninsula. Isolated and light rainfall activity likely over interiors of South India tomorrow.
