July 29, 2015 6:03 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The countrywide cumulative rainfall deficiency could come down to 2% by tomorrow.

A feeble Western Disturbance can be seen over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan region. It will start affecting the hills from Thursday. The state will receive only light rainfall.

The Monsoon trough is running between the two weather systems. Tomorrow, it will shift a little north of its normal position, closer to Delhi.  Thus, we can expect light rainfall in the Plains of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR.

The system over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas will weaken into a low pressure area and will move northwards. It will bring heavy showers over the Kutch region of Gujarat and southwest Rajasthan. Rainfall will gradually increase over west central Rajasthan as well.

The deep depression lying over Northeast Bay of Bengal will gradually move inland. It could possibly make landfall in coastal Bangladesh by tomorrow evening. Tomorrow the system will bring heavy showers in West Bengal and Odisha. Some rain likely in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh as well.

The offshore trough will be active all from Coastal to Konkan & Goa. It could bring heavy showers mainly over this part. Light rainfall likely in Coastal Maharashtra.

Maximums will be way near normal in most parts of the country.
