29 June, 2015 Monsoon Update: Skymet Weather

June 28, 2015 7:22 PM | Skymet Weather Team

At present, Southwest Monsoon is mainly active South and East India, on account of several weather systems over the regions.

A low pressure area is prevailing over Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, while a Monsoon trough is extending from foothills of Himalayas to northeast Bay of Bengal through the center of this weather system.

In wake of this, we can expect moderate to heavy rain on Monday over Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, while scattered rain over parts of Uttarakhand.

Moving on to North India, a fresh Western Disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir, which will give scattered rain over Jammu and Kashmir and plains of Northwest India including Delhi. With this, we can also expect marginal drop in the maximum temperatures too.

Meanwhile, off-shore trough along the west coast, which is now extending from south Maharashtra up to Kerala coast, will give light to moderate rain over coastal Karnataka and Kerala on Monday, with heavy rains at isolated places.
