The countrywide cumulative rainfall deficiency could come down to 2% by Thursday. All thanks to the two depressions affecting weather in entire Central India including Rajasthan and Gujarat.
The Western Disturbance is moving away from the form the hills of North India. Rain has now reduced in the hilly states of north India.
The Monsoon trough is running between the two depressions, across Gwalior, Varanasi and Dumka. It still remains south of its normal position and will bring rainfall all along the trough line.
The system over Southwest Rajasthan will maintain the strength of a depression for 2 days. The system will continue to bring heavy showers in Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Thereafter, the depression will weaken while moving in a west/northwest direction.
The depression lying over North Bay of Bengal could possibly intensify into a deep depression and move inland. It will bring heavy showers in coastal parts of West Bengal and Odisha. The system will gradually travel across Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and finally reach Gujarat. Southwest Monsoon will remain most vigorous in this part of the country.
The offshore trough will be active from Kerala to Konkan & Goa. It could bring heavy showers mainly over Konkan & Goa. Light rainfall likely in Coastal Maharashtra.
Maximums will be way below normal in Central India and Rajasthan. But, day temperatures will be above normal at few places over Interiors of Peninsular India. Rest of the country will witness normal temperatures.
