The Low pressure are over East India has now moved westwards and is presently marked over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and adjoining Madhya Pradesh.
With this we can expect fairly widespread showers with isolated heavy rains over West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh till Sunday.
A trough can be seen extending from this system up to Tamil Nadu along the East Coast and accordingly we can expect light to moderate rain all along the well-marked trough line.
Meanwhile on the West Coast, feeble off-shore trough is extending from Konkan & Goa region up to Coastal Karnataka. This will give light showers all along the trough line including Kerala.
Monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas on the Western side. Thereafter, moving across Uttar Pradesh, Centre of low pressure area and further up to Bay of Bengal. Secondary arm of the trough is seen extending up to Northeast region.
We can expect some scattered rainfall activity along the foothills of Himalayas. Heavy rains are expected to lash Sikkim and sub-Himalayan West Bengal along with Northeastern state during next 48 hours.
Rest parts of the country will continue with scattered light rain, barring parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat that will remain mostly dry.
