Cyclonic circulation over West-Central Bay of Bengal has finally intensified into a low pressure area and is presently lying over South Odisha, North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Bay of Bengal.
With this we can expect heavy rainfall over Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Also under the influence of this low pressure area, scattered light to good showers will occur over West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.
A trough can be seen extending from this system up to Tamil Nadu along the East Coast and accordingly we can expect light to moderate rain all along the well-marked trough line.
Meanwhile, rain intensity over Northeast India will increase once again due to change in wind pattern over the region with this system moving inland. Heavy rains are expected to lash Sikkim and sub-Himalayan West Bengal region.
Monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas on the Western side. While, the eastern end is moving across Bihar, West Bengal and further up to Bay of Bengal. We can expect some scattered light rainfall activity along the foothills.
Another feeble off-shore trough is seen along the West Coast extending from Konkan & Goa region up to Coastal Karnataka. This will give light showers along the trough line including Kerala.
Rest parts of the country will continue with scattered light rain, barring northwestern plains which will remain mostly dry.
