The deep depression in the Arabian Sea entered Gujarat coast and unleashed very heavy rain over many parts of South and Central Gujarat. It has now weakened into a depression, while moving in a northeast direction. The system will continue to bring good showers over many parts of Gujarat during next 24 hours. The rain belt will gradually shift to cover Rajasthan and west Madhya Pradesh.
The offshore trough running across the West Coast will continue to bring heavy rain over coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Konkan and Goa, including Mumbai. We can expect scattered Monsoon rains Maharashtra and North Interior Karnataka as well. Tamil Nadu, Rayalseema and Andhra Pradesh will remain almost dry.
The weather system in the Arabian Sea will interact with the Western Disturbance which is affecting the western Himalayas and adjoining foothills of North India at present. Both these system will bring fairly widespread rain over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Another low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal will bring good showers over the eastern states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, North Odisha and entire Northeast India.
Temperatures likely to drop by 3 to 4 degrees in East, Central the Northern plains.
