August 21, 2015 6:11 PM |

A fresh cyclonic circulation can be seen in North Bay of Bengal and it is expected to intensify into a low pressure area during next 24 hours.

Also under the influence of the system, the eastern end of the Monsoon trough has shifted southwards and is dipping in Bay of Bengal. With this, intensity of rain over Northeast India will now decrease. While rain activity will pick up over entire East India that includes parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. Heavy rains may occur over coastal parts of the region.

The western end of the Monsoon is still running along the foothills of Himalayas, extending Himachal Pradesh up to Bihar. A fresh Western Disturbance is also affecting North India and is presently over Jammu and Kashmir.

Both the systems combined together will give scattered light to moderate rain over Jammu and Kashmir, while good rains are expected over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Few places may record heavy Monsoon showers as well.

Now moving down south, cyclonic circulation continues to persist and is presently marked over East-Central Arabian Sea off Karnataka and Goa coast. A trough is also extending from this system up to Telangana across Karnataka.

In wake of this, good rainfall is expected over parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Telangana.

Rest parts of the country including northwestern plains will continue with patchy light rainfall. However, Rajasthan will witness least weather activity.
