June 18, 2015 7:16 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The Monsoon line has been static for 5 days now. But, conditions are now favorable for further advancement of Monsoon over more parts of Odisha, West Bengal and even extend up to Bihar and Jharkhand.

The cyclonic circulations in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are still getting organised. They are likely to play a major role in the progress of the Monsoon line. The off-shore trough remains active and good showers will continue along the West Coast. Vigorous Monsoon activity is likely over coastal Karnataka, Konkan& Goa. At present, we can also see a trough joining the two weather systems. Consequently, intense weather activity is expected in coastal parts of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

The circulation over Bay of Bengal is likely to shift closer to the coast and even move inland after the 20th of June. Chhattisgarh, Odisha, northern parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will receive heavy Monsoon rains tomorrow.

Rainfall has reduced in Northeast India, blame in on the cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal, which has pulled away all the moisture from the region.

Moving onto to northern parts of the country. A will trough will extend from the feeble cyclonic circulation over here. We cannot rule out isolated thundery activity along the trough line on Friday. 20th onwards we can expect good showers in Uttarakhand
