Weather systems across the country have kept the Southwest Monsoon active over most parts of the country. Let us have detailed look at the weather conditions in India.
A fresh Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and is presently seen as an upper air system. It is likely to give light rain over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Monsoon trough has shifted northwards and is now running from North Punjab across the foothills of Himalayas up to Northeast region. With this we can expect, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeastern states. While moderate to heavy rain is expected over foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
A cyclonic circulation is over Bihar and adjoining region and a trough is seen extending from the system up to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and Odisha. Accordingly, we can expect good showers all along the trough line. Chhattisgarh could also possibly see some light rain.
Moving down south, another cyclonic circulation can be seen over extreme tips of southern peninsula and adjoining Arabian Sea. A trough can be seen extending from the system northwards up to South Interior Karnataka. Due to this, moderate rain may occur over parts of Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala.
Meanwhile, feeble off-shore trough along the West Coast continues to persist and is not very active. We can expect very light rain over Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka.
Northwestern plains and parts of Central India will witness least weather activity.
