15 August, 2015 Monsoon Update: Skymet Weather

August 14, 2015 6:03 PM | Skymet Weather Team

The low pressure area continues to affect parts of Central India and is presently prevailing over East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh. The system is expected to give fairly widespread good Monsoon rains over both the states.

A cyclonic circulation can be seen over Punjab and adjoining areas. Both the systems will be interacting with each other and as a result we can expect light to moderate rain over East Rajasthan, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and eastern parts of Punjab and Haryana on Saturday.

The Monsoon trough is also extending from North Rajasthan up to Bay of Bengal across the center of this low pressure area. Accordingly, we can expect weather activity all along the well-marked trough line.

Up in the hills, a western disturbance can be seen over North Pakistan as an upper air system.

Moving down south, the off-shore trough along the West Coast continues to give light to moderate showers over parts of Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

While on Eastern side, a trough can be seen extending from Andhra Pradesh up to Tamil Nadu. We can expect light showers all along the trough line.
