After a prolong spell of rain, weather activity across the country will now take a back seat. With Monsoon trough moving to foothills, Southwest Monsoon will go weak for next couple of days.
Monsoon showers will now be confined to only some pockets of the country. On Tuesday, hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will receive light rain activity.
Places along the Monsoon trough that is running through the foothills of Himalayas up to Bay of Bengal will get scattered rainfall only, with isolated heavy rain over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Monsoon activity will be minimum over plains like Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR that have been witnessing good showers during last 5 to 6 days. However, chances of isolated thundershowers cannot be ruled out on Tuesday.
Moving down to south, active off-shore trough along the West Coast will continue giving good rains over Coastal Karnataka, while light rain over Konkan & Goa and Kerala.
Parts of West, Central and Peninsular India will continue with very little weather activity.
In wake of reduced weather activity, all the metro cities of India are expected to witness above normal temperatures on Tuesday.
Delhi will witness rise in mercury with day temperatures settling between 36 and 38°C.
While, Mumbai will be warm and humid with maximum temperatures expected between 32 and 34°C.
Chennai will be hot around 40°C and Kolkata will be extremely humid between 33 and 35°C.
