Monsoon activity will remain subdued in most parts of the country tomorrow. Intense showers will be observed only over East and Northeast India.
The Western Disturbance is clearing away. Accordingly, rain has reduced considerably over North India.
The Monsoon trough has shifted towards the foothills. On Saturday, the Monsoon trough will run from North Punjab to Bay of Bengal. The trough seems to be bifurcating from the cyclonic circulation over Bihar. This circulation will bring heavy Monsoon showers over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Rain and thundershowers likely along the foothills as well.
Another trough is extending from the cyclonic circulation up to Tamil Nadu, across Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh. Monsoon showers likely along the trough line. Tamil Nadu and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh generally receives rain during the weak Monsoon period.
The offshore trough is shrinking and now lies between Goa and Kerala. It has become less marked and will bring good Monsoon rain only over Goa and Coastal Karnataka.
North and Central India will be mainly dry tomorrow.
In absence of rain, northwesterly winds are blowing over Northern plains. Thus, day temperatures are rising over the area. Temperatures are also above normal in Tamil Nadu. In rest of the country, temperatures will remain near normal levels.
