After lashing Bangladesh, Cyclonic storm Komen is now lying as a depression over West Bengal region. On Saturday, we can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall over West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand. Also, under the influence of this system, good rains can be observed over Bihar, North Chhattisgarh and East Uttar Pradesh.

With system moving inland, Northeastern states will now also see increase in intensity of rain due to change in the wind pattern from easterlies to southerlies.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area over Northwest Rajasthan has also weakened further and has now merged with the Monsoon trough. The system has pulled the Monsoon trough northwards, which is running north of its normal position.

The eastern arm of the trough is moving close to the foothills, while depression over West Bengal has kept western end to the south.

Up in the hills, Western Disturbance continues to be stationed over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. All the systems combined together will give light to moderate rainfall along with the thundershower activities over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, North Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. While, parts of Uttarakhand may record heavy rainfall.

Moving down south, off-shore trough along the West Coast continue to extend from Konkan & Goa up to Coastal Karnataka, giving moderate showers over both the regions.

Rest of the country will continue to witness light rain.
