Widespread rain expected in Delhi tomorrow

July 30, 2013 4:47 PM |

After receiving 123mm of rain on July 20th, there has not been much rain in Delhi since then.  Though, passing showers and patchy rains have continued to lash the city and provide some relief from the humid conditions.

On Monday the city received another spell of rain that pulled down temperatures and provided relief from the intense humid weather.  However, it also lead to problems like traffic snarls and waterlogging at several places including Kashmere Gate, Munirka, Dwarka, Dhaula Kuan, Sarai Kale Khan, Rajghat, Kalindi Kunj, Barapulla and Moolchand. 28mm of rain was recorded in the city yesterday.

Meanwhile, weather analysts have predicted another round of rain in the city on 31st July and 1st August. This time too rain will be moderate and widespread and may create problems of traffic jams and waterlogging. Daily commuters especially office goers and school children need to heed to this alert and prepare themselves to avoid getting stuck in the rain.

Despite all the problems, this rain will come as a big respite to the people facing intense humid conditions. Humidity levels in Delhi have remained above 90% in the last couple of weeks with winds also blowing at a very slow speed.
