At present, an off-shore Trough is moving across Maharashtra and is extending up to Kerala. Also, strong westerly winds are prevailing over most parts of the city.
The city of Bengaluru is enjoying good spells of rains in the last few days. During the last 24 hours as well, the city received light rains. The day remained pleasant along with cloudy sky conditions.
Now, the rains are likely to take a receding note for the next two days. However, isolated spells of drizzle cannot be ruled. On a good note, as is typical of Monsoon season in the city, pleasant weather condition will continue to prevail over Bengaluru in the next few days.
Rainfall is again set to increase over Bengaluru, August 12 onward.
As of now, the city has received 134 mm of rains in Rural, 30% less against the normal of 196.9 mm. While Urban Bengaluru has received 144.7 mm in the season against the normal of 198.8 mm which is 7% less than the normal figure.
However, the deficiency is likely to cover up as more rains are likely over Bengaluru in the rest period of Monsoon i.e. August and September.
