Rains have now decreased over the state of Gujarat region as well as Saurashtra and Kutch in the last 24 hours. However, light to moderate rains have occurred over one or two places.
A day before yesterday heavy to very heavy rains have lashed multiple regions of the state.
At present, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over Gujarat region. Therefore, we expect more rains to occur over Gujarat region. However, Saurashtra and Kutch may receive only receive light rains with one or two moderate spells.
Another Low-Pressure Area which had formed over Bay of Bengal, is now over Odisha and adjoining areas. It is expected to further move further in Westerly direction. Thus, rains will once again increase over Gujarat. Good rains might be witnessed in places such as Valsad, Dang, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Navsari and Rajkot. Scattered rains are also possible over Mehsana, Patan, Samarkantha, Banaskantha etc.
These on and off rains are expected to continue over Gujarat until next week at least until September 8 or 9. Thereafter, the rains are forecast to go down significantly. The Monsoon surge will also become weak over Gujarat.
Gujarat has received surplus rains this year. Now also we do not expect any relief from the ongoing rains.
