Delhi and the National Capital Region woke up to a very pleasant weather today as moderate rain lashed the area pulling down temperatures by 2-3 degrees. But the downpour also lead to traffic jams and water-logging at several places causing great inconvenience to commuters, especially the office goers.

Pedestrian and pillion riders were forced to take shelter under over bridges and other such places which created bottle necks and slowed down traffic movement. According to reports, there were traffic jams in several areas including Nizamuddin, Greater Kailash 1, and Safdarjung in south Delhi.

The city had already received 50 mm of rain by 2.30 am with maximum intensity reported from central and south east Delhi.

Meanwhile, the weather is expected to remain pleasant with clouding and thundershowers throughout the day. Tomorrow also the weather will remain the same with light showers in some parts of the city. The temperature may however rise a notch or two.

The maximum and minimum temperatures today are expected to remain around 32 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively providing huge relief from the muggy weather.
