Amidst all the chaos and trouble, the heavy downpour in Mumbai has brought some good news with it. The city has already received more than 70% of its annual average rainfall in both south Mumbai and suburbs.

200mm plus of heavy rain on Tuesday has ensured that Colaba and Santa Cruz record close to the annual average rainfall. By Wednesday morning Colaba received 1,732.2mm of rain which is 78% of its annual average of 2,220mm.

On the other hand, Santa Cruz had recorded 1, 900 mm of rain thus covering 73% of 2,598mm of its annual average rainfall. And with over two months for the monsoon to be over, it seems that rainfall would exceed the normal figures in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Mumbaikairs would need to battle with the rainy situation for some more time as forecasters have predicted more rain in the city for next 48 hours.
