Chennai experienced heavy rainfall on Tuesday night and the next morning, leaving the city inundated. And there is little respite in sight for the city, as weather officials predict more rain, with heavy showers at few places in the city and its adjoining areas, in the next 24 hours.
Incessant rain stranded commuters for hours on Wednesday in several parts of the city including General Patters Road, Bazullah road, 100 Feet road, North Usman road, Thoraipakkam and Nesappakkam Junction. Life was thrown out of gear in these major areas and people had to find their way through overflowing drains and scores of uprooted trees.
Even the subways and educational institutions in the city were flooded as hours of torrential rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms lashed the city.
