A well marked low pressure area currently lies over Andhra Pradesh and its adjoining region. The associated cyclonic circulation is extending up to about 6 km. The system has shown significant movement in the last couple of days and is likely to continue to do so with a slight northward shift in the next 24 hours.
Under its effect, the confluence of low level winds over West Bengal and its adjoining areas is likely to cause good amounts of showers over Kolkata, Midnapore, Howrah and Hoogly. Day temperatures, on account of cloudy skies and rain are likely to remain below normal by 3-5 degrees here.
Meanwhile, north Bengal will experience relatively mild weather with a mix of sunshine and cloudiness.
