Major metros to receive light rain in the next 24 hours

Light spells of rain are expected to bring some relief from the sultry weather conditions in the major cities of India like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. The temperatures would inevitably be pulled down by a few notches.

Delhi

Delhi and the adjoining cities would continue to enjoy below normal temperatures with calm and variable winds promising to keep your mood elevated for the next couple of days. Today, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 31 degrees and might come down by a couple of degrees at the time when the Delhiites would be preparing to hoist the flag tomorrow.

Chennai

People in Chennai got the much awaited relief from the sultry weather conditions, after widespread rain today. The temperature was reduced significantly and may come down further by tomorrow. The sky will remain mainly overcast and strong breeze will keep it comfortable.

Kolkata

Kolkata will remain uncomfortable due to high temperatures and humidity. The sultry weather would affect the Independence Day celebrations during the day.

On the other hand, rain in central India has reduced and become concentrated near the axis of monsoon trough that passes through the cities of Bikaner, Sawai Madhopur, Nowgong, Pendra, Jharsuguda, Paradip and southeast Bay of Bengal. Rain is expected to remain subdued over south Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh during the next few days.
