Intensity of rain will increase today, in peninsular India and will continue to remain wet for the next 24 to 48 hours. Mainly light to moderate spells are expected to lash many parts of Andhra Pradesh, south Maharashtra, Karnataka and west coast including Kerala. Whereas, few heavy spells is the forecast in some parts of northwest coast of Karnataka and south Konkan and Goa. Extreme southern Tamil Nadu will however, continue to remain dry.
The scenario is starkly different in the plains of north India, where dry cool winds have contributed to pleasant mornings and comparatively warmer afternoons. In the north and northwest plains, temperatures may decrease marginally in the next 24 hours. A warm and sunny day will prevail in the national capital today, with a continued dry spell.
