Heavy rains ahead for Lucknow, Kanpur, Shahjahanpur and Bareily

During the last few days, the state of Uttar Pradesh remained mostly dry. Only a isolated places have received light rainfall. The axis of Monsoon Trough passes across extreme southern parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Hence, during the next 18 to 24 hours, the weather conditions are likely to remain dry at most places. Only a few places are likely to receive light rainfall activities. The day will be warm and humid with cloudy skies.

Due to the approaching Western Disturbance, the Western end of Axis of Monsoon Trough is likely to shift northwards. Hence, after 18 to 24 hours, the rainfall activity would be increasing over entire Uttar Pradesh.

The central parts of North Uttar Pradesh may also receive heavy showers at scattered places. Cities like that of Bahraich, Gonda, Lucknow, Kanpur, Shahjahanpur, Pilibheet, and Bareily may experience these heavy showers. Otherwise most other places will experience light to moderate rains and thundershowers only.

On August 4, the day will be warm with humid conditions while significant fall in day temperatures is expected August 5 onward.

The eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh are deficient by 4% while western parts are running deficient by 26%. Due to the expected good rainfall on Aug 6 and 7, this rain deficiency is likely to reduce further. These coming rains will turn out very beneficial for the ongoing cropping systems.
