Heavy rain forecast in Pakistan; possible flooding

A western disturbance combined with a low pressure area over central Pakistan will unleash a spurt of heavy rain spells over the region. Rain is predicted to begin tomorrow and continue for the next 48 hours.

Flooding and landslides are expected to create havoc at many places. Cities such as Islamabad, Sargodha, Muzaffarabad and Rawalpindi are likely to be the worst affected.

Rivers like Sutlej, Chenab and Jhelum flowing through Pakistan will also face rigours of rain as water levels may rise above the danger mark, increasing fears of adjoining areas being inundated.
