Heavy rain expected in TN, coastal AP

The intensity of rain has increased in north Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh. Good rains are expected with heavy fall at one or two places in the region in next 24 hours. The low pressure area in central part of south Bay of Bengal is expected to move in northwestward direction due to which rain will continue and spread to other parts of southern Peninsula i.e. Kerala and Karnataka. Chennai in the region received 80.4 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Nellore received 46 mm of rain Nagapattinam 26 mm, and Pamban 33.4 mm.

Rain will also occur in Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha in the coming 48 hours. The northeasterly winds are picking up moisture from the Bay of Bengal and blowing as easterly to southeasterly in the region to bring rain. Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Kolkata are the cities in this region that could receive good rain during the next two days.
