Good rains are continuing over Rajasthan in particularly eastern and southern districts since the last two days. In fact, Ajmer has recorded heavy rains yesterday leading to flash floods in many areas. The city recorded a total of 115 mm of rains yesterday, with a total of 112 mm of rains in a span of just three hours.

Now, we expect the rains to continue with moderate intensity over eastern districts of Rajasthan for the next four to five days. In fact, the entire upcoming week might turnout rainy for the state of Rajasthan, especially for the eastern districts.

On August 6, 7 and 8 we expect the northern and central districts of Rajasthan to also start receiving rains and thundershower activities. Particularly, places like that of Sri Ganganagar, Churu, Bikaner, will also receive good spells of rains until August 6 and 7.

At present the axis of Monsoon Trough is passing through northern parts of Rajasthan. The western end of the Trough will pass close to the Northwest Rajasthan. Thus, on August 7 and 8, a Low-Pressure Area is expected to develop over North Bay of Bengal. Thus, strong easterly winds are likely to blow over the northern districts of the state leading to increased activities.
