Back in 2010, Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace hotel made unusual efforts to guarantee a ‘merry’ Christmas for its guests. They put up a 13-metre high Christmas tree in the hotel lobby and decorated it with necklaces, earrings, silver and gold bows, pearls, emeralds, and even sapphires.

The only thing fake was the tree itself. The cost of this tree was estimated at about $10,000. But with the added jewels and ornaments, the value went up to a shocking $11 million!

The hotel authorities wished to enter the magnificent tree into the Guinness book of world records. However, later on, the authorities ‘regretted’ their own attempt at trying to ‘overload’ the tradition. But the world shall remember the highly expensive and unique tree which took Christmas to another level!
