Women Safety: Pink Auto Service Reaches Noida and Ghaziabad

Pink Auto Now To Reach NoidaAfter Ranchi and Gurgaon, the Uttar Pradesh government has also proposed to launch pink autos for women and their families. In Delhi-NCR, Gurgaon is the only city to run these autos. According to the Regional Transport Department at Ghaziabad, the final decision regarding the fares, route and the structure will be taken during the upcoming meetings.

The autos will be pink in colour for easier identification of the vehicle. The state officials have already given a green signal for the pink auto service. Female passengers in Ghaziabad and Noida will be benefited when this service begins in the state. The pink autos will also be equipped with security enabled devices to help women whenever in need.

The pink auto initiative was followed by Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation’s initiative of commencing long distance pink bus service from Anand Vihar to the capital city, Lucknow. The UPSRTC has also launched a pink bus service from Ghaziabad to Meerut via Noida. Gurgaon has 90 pink autos plying in many sectors of the city, the numbers are expected to increase to 200.

Just a week ago, Vankadarath Saritha was inducted as the first woman driver of DTC. The Delhi transport minister Gopal Rai, applauded Saritha for accepting the challenge of driving a bus on Delhi roads. Saritha is from Nalgonda district in Telangana.
