Students of Delhi University are gearing up for some of the most exciting and entertaining college annual festivals. Each year, in the months of January and February, nearly all the colleges of Delhi University organize their own cultural festivals.

The foggy and chilly weather of Delhi only adds to the overall experience. The cold conditions are perfect for shaking a leg or grabbing a bite. Moreover, open air performances and set-ups are a go as large turnouts earmark these fests. From movie stars to famous pop artists; from fashion shows to lip-smacking street food stalls; and from Nukkad Nataks to pulsating DJ performances; Delhi University college festivals pack tons of funtertainment! We give you a list of ten Delhi University college festivals which you must treat yourself to this winter.

Crossroads, SRCC

Top Delhi University College FestivalsCrossroads is widely recognized as the biggest and most happening cultural gathering of Delhi University. Funded by big shots, Crossroads is held every year at Shri Ram College Of Commerce and is rated as one of the best college festivals of Delhi University. Sponsors like DLF, Pepsi, Samsung, and Adidas allow the organizers to invite major artists including the likes of Nds, Blue, Lost Stories, Raghu Dixit Project, Shankar Ehsaan Loy, and many others. The fest witnesses a footfall of around 10,000 people every day.

 

Nexus, Sri Venkateswara College

Top Delhi University College FestivalsA variety of contests and guests up the entertainment factor of Nexus which is held in Sri Venkateswara college each year. From face painting to the chocolate eating competition; from western music to classical jugalbandi; Nexus is host to some of the most fun-filled and unique activities. Besides this, a number of internationally as well as nationally acclaimed artists flock up to make the fest memorable.

 

Harmony, St. Stephen's College

Top Delhi University College FestivalsHarmony brands itself as an adventurous and exciting festival held at St. Stephen's each year. The annual festival of DU's most famous college allows students to be a part of several activities ranging from wall climbing, food tasting competition, karaoke nights, scavenger hunt, treasure hunt, and a lot more. The spotlight, although, is always on the grandeur 'Battle of Bands' which allows headbangers to converge and arise on a stage full of music and masti.

Confluence, Hansraj  College

Top Delhi University College FestivalsConfluence is more popular as a musical fest with a variety of artists and genres raining on the crowds. Hansraj College is known to invite an array of artists like RDB, Jazzy B, DJ Barkha Kaul, and others. The festival also hosts DJ Wars with amateur as well as professional disk jockeys competing for the top spot. Hansraj's Confluence is not behind on sponsors either with the likes of Coca Cola, Monte Carlo, Hudco, and others funding the mega event.

Mecca, Hindu College

Top Delhi University College FestivalsMecca is the annual cultural festival of Hindu College. The fest is known for famous band performances like that of Papon and East India Company. Mecca also incorporates other amusing activities and competitions like the widely popular Kavi Sammelan, Cricket Quiz, Choreography dance competitions with famous choreographers as judges, and much more including a 'Battle of the Bands'.

Renaissance, Kirori Mal College

Top Delhi University College FestivalsRenaissance, held in Kirori Mal College, is known to attract huge crowds every year. Last year only, Renaissance saw the likes of Mika Singh and internationally acclaimed rock band Parikrama performing in the festival. Interestingly, Parikrama formed in Kirori Mal College only! The festival is always met with a positive and energetic response. Besides this, a variety of competitions like choreography competition, western dance competition, fashion show, and others are also a part of Renaissance.

Montage, Jesus & Mary College (JMC)

Top Delhi University College FestivalsJMC's Montage is a carnival of music, art, and energy. From Sufi rock band performances to the engrossing street play competition; from the western dance competition to the battle of the bands; and from food stalls serving toothsome delicacies to the colorful kite show; Montage features an array of activities.

Tempest, Miranda College

Top Delhi University College FestivalsTempest organized by Miranda College involves a wide range of quality events and performances. The crowd factor plays an important role in the success of this event with ticket sales on a rising curve every year. Besides that, the festival also features performance from underground popular artists providing an escape from mainstream musical performances. The likes of Jester, Groove Adda, Faridkot, etc. Up the musical quotient as other interesting activities and competitions allow crowds to have a gala time.

Tarang, Lady Shri Ram College (LSR)

Top Delhi University College FestivalsTarang is the annual cultural festival of LSR and is popular for its variety in terms of events, competitions, activities, and performances. The food festival attracts foodies from all over NCR with delicious items of Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Indian, and Italian cuisine spread out. Tarang isn't behind on stardust either. Major performers like Euphoria, MJ5, Raghav Mandava, etc. are a part of this colorful festival. Moreover, other literary competitions long with dance, photography, and art competitions are also highlights of the fest.

Mosaic, Ramjas College

mosaicFlashy fashion shows, charming musicals, engrossing street play action, all combined with a dust of glamour is how one can define Ramjas' Mosaic. The festival, almost every year, attracts more crowds than it can hold. There's always a rush for entry and there's even a bigger rush once the performances begin. Mosaic features several art and literary competitions with colleges from all over DU participating. The 'Battle of Bands' too attracts huge numbers and the overall ambiance simply radiates the funtertainment factor of the festival.

 

Besides all these ultra-amazing festivals, other colleges of Delhi University too host their annual cultural festivals between the months of January and March. The foggy and chilly Delhi winter has a catalytic effect on your hunt for fun and adventure. Be sure to arrange passes and entry tickets or else you'll surely be left out.
