Australian honeymoon destinations

What do we know about Australia? Of course, the first associations with this country were numerous kangaroos, crocodiles, surfing, the Sydney Opera House, the endless ocean, and the warm climate. Maybe this country is not on the list of the best destinations to look for a foreign wife, but it is probably one of the greatest places where you can spend your honeymoon. What can be more romantic than going to the country that occupies a whole continent! Of course, it is a rather small one, but I can assure you, there are many glorious places for you to visit during your honeymoon.

Don’t expect that you will manage to see all of Australia in a week. It will take longer than a month to see at least some of its beautiful places. Australia is listed in various lists of the best honeymoon destinations. Because its pristine nature can impress anyone, and don’t forget about technologies and architecture.

As you can see, Australia is a very large country, and first of all, you need to understand what do you want to do there. For example, you may need several days only to visit all major romantic places in Sydney, while the Great Barrier Reef will surprise you even after months of diving there. Also, don’t forget about the Australian holidays since they are different from ours. For example, Australians usually spend their New Year on the beaches. In this article, we are going to share with you the 5 best honeymoon destinations in this country.

1. Great Barrier Reef

Great Barrier Reef

This is the most famous and the biggest attraction in Australia. There you can look at sharks, enjoy pristine beaches, learn diving. And, the most important part, you can rent a romantic bungalow right on the beach for you and your girlfriend. If you want to spend your honeymoon in a more civilized way, then many different expensive hotels are waiting for you there too. Australians are very proud to have the Great Barrier Reef, so there you will hear many stories about it from locals. Even now, it attracts not only tourists from every corner of the globe but also international scientific groups that study it.

2. Sydney Opera House

Sydney Opera House

Of course, you have already heard about it. What can be better than a morning dinner in a small cafe, an excursion around Sydney and its famous Gulf, then a quick dinner in local shawarma not to be late to a show at the Sydney Opera House? Maybe only the end of your evening when you with your loved one will be sharing a bottle of champagne talking about your incredible time together in Sydney. Generally, the Sydney Opera House is definitely a must-see place in Australia.

3. The Twelve Apostles

The Twelve Apostles

This is not a religious place, but another very popular tourist attraction in Australia. They even built a huge tourist center not far away from this place. The best way to see the Twelve Apostles is to join a helicopter excursion. Thus, you will be sure that you will have very vivid memories and topics to discuss after your honeymoon. Besides, there were only 9 stacks there, before one of those stacks had collapsed in July 2005. So, today, there are only 8 stacks, and we have no idea why do they still call it the Twelve Apostles.

4. Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Uluru

If you are more into adventures and want to feel like Indiana Jones and Lara Croft, then you definitely should visit Uluru. This is a huge sandstone rock that is famous for its ancient cave paintings. Don’t worry, you won't need to spend days in a car to get there, because there is a resort called "Yulara," together with the international airport not that far away. Thus, you will be able to go there in the morning and then come back to your hotel till nightfall.

5. Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains

Actually, these mountains are not exactly blue. This effect is caused by the bluish fumes that are covering the eucalyptus forests. A large part of these mountains is protected by UNESCO and turned into the National Park. It is best to start exploring this inspiring place form the city of Katoomba. There you will see numerous waterfalls and will be able to test yourself in speleology in local caves.
