The festival of colours is just a call away and so are skin rashes, and allergies. While Holi does happen to be the most colourful festival there is, you cannot deny the allergies those chemical laden colours bring along with them.

Time to take a switch from chemical to organic. If those organic colours end up burning a hole in your pocket, we have some homemade colour options that will keep both your skin and pocket happy:

For a blood red colour, either grind some dried hibiscus flowers and add some flour in it or simply use red Chandan powder. The colour will not get on to your skin and you will be safe from the itchiness.

For a bright yellow colour, you can mix some turmeric powder, orange peel powder, marigold flowers with some lemon oil and voila, your ywllow colour problem is sorted.

For a dry green, you can mix in some henna with flour. For a wet green, boil some mint leaves in water, remove excess water and you have your ultimate green.

For a dry pink, take a beetroot, grind and make paste, let it dry in the sun and add some gram flour in it.

Here are some easy ways to make organic colours at home, with ingredients that are easily available. Ditch the chemicals and say yes to organic.
