From expensive shampoos and conditioners to overheard hair therapies, women are always trying something new to make their hair look good. Hair colors, hair oils, and what not, the sole motive is to get it right! Above all, washing hair is considered as an important task if you wish to keep your hair healthy and shiny. But do you even know how to wash your hair or when to wash your hair? Ladies, you have to do it right if you wish to get it right. We bring you six important steps which must be followed religiously as your new hair routine. You start by jumping to the next paragraph!
Too Much Washing Is Not Cool
You don’t need to wash your hair every single day of the week. Actually, not more than twice a week. If you end up using too much shampoo on your hair, it basically juices out all the natural oils from your hair leaving them dry and partially dead. Using only water to rinse your hair is not a bad idea either!
Comb While In Shower
If you wish to detangle your hair without finding a lump of hair residual on your floor, do it with your conditioner soaking in. Wet hair, when combed roughly (we all do it roughly c’mon!), leads to hair breakage. So what you need to do is use a wide tooth comb and use it in the shower itself.
Cool It Down
Cold water is a boon for your hair. Maybe during winters, nobody prefers putting cold water on their head, but what if it really helps? Excessive use of hot water will do no good to your hair while cold water leaves you with shiny and crimp-free hair.
More Oil Please
Make this one a habit and you can thank us later. Oil your hair if you plan to shampoo later. Oil protects your hair from the dreadful drying effects of shampoo. Also, it acts as the perfect conditioner. You also get oil based shampoos which promise the same effect, but one has every right to doubt the results!
Wrap Them Quickly
Use microfiber towels instead of your usual cotton towels to wrap your hair after bath. This reduces hair frizz, guards you against hair breakage, and speeds up the drying process as well.
Hair Masks
You have to wear them for a while, they usually stink, and they’re full of hassles. But what if the result is worth the effort (and the murderous odor)? There are several organic hair masks available out there. But there’s one in particular which has stood the test of time. You mix two egg yolks with coconut or olive oil and put it on your hair for about half an hour. If you survive the odor, you’ll be able to show-off your protein-enriched shiny hair.
