Ways to have fun indoors

Sometimes rain storms and a heavy downpour can happen unexpectedly on a clear day, thus disrupting your plans for a fun-filled day. If this happens, don’t panic. Rather, get creative with your indoor space and you’ll soon realize that you can have just as much fun inside as you would outside.  All you need is a collection of great indoor games in your back pocket.

This article explains 5 great indoor games but you should also visit sites such as  comeon-india.com for other fascinating ideas on the games.

Indoor games

1. Fitness Bingo

This is the perfect game to pass time on a rainy day. Fitness bingo is one game you’ll definitely love to play on a sunny summer day as it combines the fun of bingo with creative fitness movements that you and your family will enjoy. It is the perfect way to have loads of fun while staying fit.

The equipment you will need includes Bingo sheets and writing instruments for the players.

Each player gets a copy of the bingo sheet with a pencil or crayon to draw different physical activities/ fitness routines on.

Pick a random player to call out the bingo exercises. The first player to call bingo when they win gets to call out the exercises during the next round.

2. Silent Speed Ball

This game is very engaging and quiet, hence perfect for indoor settings. The basic rule of the game is silence. So players can have fun without having to deal with a headache caused by the noise. Silent speed ball is allowing you to have fun within a small space, all you need are gator skin balls.

Have the players form a circle and throw the ball across the circle to another player, any player that cannot catch the ball is out. The goal is to be the last one left at the end.

Add more balls as the players become more comfortable with one ball; this increases the competition and challenge.

3. Paper Airplane Bonanza

Paper airplanes can be used at play, just for fun and competitive games. If you were never bored enough in class to make one, you missed out!

Now it’s time to unleash the joy of making and throwing paper airplanes on a rainy day.  This may sound cheesy, but I’ve used this activity in limited spaces many times to teach safe throwing, and it works wonders! This activity combines art, physical movement, and pure go-to fun for a rainy day!

Equipment you will need include colorful papers, Glue, Crayons and a pair Scissors.

Teach the players how to make a basic paper airplane and see who can throw it the farthest and keep theirs in the air the longest.

4. Sit Down Tag

This game involves standing up and sitting down.  It’s not only fun but also keeps the players in constant motion.

How to play: have the players spread out and stand in front of their chair. You can also decide to just have players sit on a specific spot on the floor.

Pick one player to be the tagger. The tagger’s job is to run around and tag the other players quickly before they can sit down. Try Spider Solitaire Masters - Play Free Card Game Online.

5. Hula Hoop Tic-Tac-Toe

This is one of my favorites of all the indoor games, I mean who doesn’t love tic-tac-toe?  Hula hoop tic-tac-toe is a timeless game with a modern twist. It is basically the regular tic-tac-toe but with hoops and beanbags. Equipment you will need include hula-hoops, colored beanbags, batons and cones.

Conclusion

Staying active on a rainy day can be simple and fun.  With a brief space, some safety considerations, rules and fairness, and some creativity, rainy days can be one of your best days ever.
